DESA ECO CENTRE | Recycling Centre
2017 | TAMAN DESA, KUALA LUMPUR | B.Arch Studio 4
This project calls for the design of a community recycling, re-purposing and reclaiming centre in a sub-urban park area. We were required to provide a full design proposal incorporating precedent studies and site analysis, and design solutions that reduce environmental impact utilizing clustered spatial typology and passive energy.
The design respects its surroundings by adapting to the shape of the terrain at site, creating little disturbance. The floor plan rises with the terrain's height, creating a representative walkway through the building. The activities to be carried out in the building connects the community all around, encouraging local residents to practise recycling.
